New Horizon Daily Report
The reports from the ship's captain list the day of the month, followed by
the time when the measurements were taken, the name of the month, and the
year.
For example, 181900ZAugust2005 means that the measurements were taken on the
18th of August, 2005. The 1900 on the 24 hour clock is 7:00pm. The Z
stands for Zulu Time, also known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and Universal
Time Coordinated (UTC). Zulu Time is 7 hours ahead of Pacific Daylight
Time. 1900Z is 12:00 pm (noon) Pacific Daylight Time.
So, 181900ZAugust2005 means August 18, 2005 at 12:00 noon, Pacific Daylight
Time.
