VALUE Launches Membership Drive

WHY JOIN VALUE?

By joining VALUE, you will be a part of a groundbreaking organization that taps the talents of adult learners. VALUE is led by Board Members and an Executive Director who have enriched their lives by participating in adult basic education programs.

The voice of the adult learner has too often been missing in the adult basic education field. Adult learners can help with:

• Recruitment of new learners into programs (through word-of-mouth, public speaking, media interviews, open houses);
• Retention of new learners (by providing support and guidance through support groups and peer teachers);
• Resource Development (by educating policy makers, funders, and the general public about the importance of investing resources in adult basic education);
• Reform of education by participating in local schools (in PTA’s, etc.) and adult education programs (on adult education advisory councils, boards of directors, evaluation committees).

VALUE’s GOALS

VALUE wants to be a resource center for adult basic education and to provide leadership training for adult learners.

Adult learners’ voices are now getting louder and are striving to be heard. You can be a part of this voice if you are an adult learner or anyone else who believes that adult learners can make a difference -- in their own lives, in their education programs, and in their workplaces, families, and communities.

HOW TO JOIN

VALUE has several membership categories: We welcome adult learners, learner groups, adult education programs, other individuals (including teachers, tutors, friends, family members) who support adult education, other nonprofit organizations, and corporations.
