The State Collaborative Literacy Council and the State Literacy Resource Center are pleased to announce their Second Annual Literacy Awards for California

• Classroom-based Literacy Programs (adult education, community college, CCC)
• Community-based Literacy Programs (library, CBO, volunteers with some paid staff)
• Community-based Literacy Programs - No paid staff (all volunteer)
• Special Populations Literacy Programs (corrections, homeless, rehab, etc)

Plaques for First, Second and Third Place and certificates for Honorable Mention will be awarded in each category. Programs nominate themselves. Points will be earned based on the following:

Points	Criteria
20	includes assessment/evaluation of program & individual learner assessment
15	meets needs/learning strengths of all learners in program
15	promotes learner involvement in all aspects of the program
10	has productive and ongoing collaborations and partnerships with evidence of community involvement
10	ability to motivate adult learners (& volunteers, if appropriate)
10	provides for access and outreach
10	addresses learners' transition upon completion of program

Up to 10 additional points may be earned for innovative/creative approaches or other special aspects of the program.

Two references from outside of the program must be included with this nomination.
