Reviewing the vocabulary and discussing it will reinforce vocabulary skills.

Discuss vocabulary. . Use word attack skills while introducing vocabulary

While viewing the vocabulary be sure to point out base words, suffixes, and prefixes. Use of vocabulary outside of class should be assigned

Power Point show for vocabulary

Parents should be instructed to use the same word attack skills at home that are used in class. This will improve English skills.

Reading the vocabulary and discussing it will reinforce vocabulary skills.

Discussing vocabulary at home will reinforce vocabulary skills.

Discuss parental guidance through problem solving techniques ( i.e. asking questions)

Use sample problems for parents to initiate questions for open dialogue. Show second part of video depicting scenarios for discussion.

Improving problem solving skills will improve parenting and communication.

10min

Discuss setting boundaries.

Young adults need to know that they are important enough in the family to have limits. Imparting this knowledge of importance instead of "controlling" them is necessary.

Review objectives of this class and present topics and objectives for next class.

Review reinforces learning. This will allow parents to do self-exploration of the topic and objectives.
