Description Windward School for Adults provides classes in Adult Basic Education, Adult General Education, and special interest topics. Through the school, Windward Volunteer Tutors provide free, private one-on-one tutoring for adults in the Windward area from Waimanalo to the North Shore. Tutor and student generally meet two to four hours weekly, at their convenience, at one of many possible locations. Description WINGS is a state-funded demonstration family literacy project, a partnership between the Department of Education and the Governor's Office of children and Youth. It is an intergenerational program which brings parents and their preschool-aged children to Waialua Elementary School three days a week to participate in learning activities both individually and together. The children receive an excellent early childhood education while their parents sharpen skills in language, mathematics and reading (getting a high school diploma if desired). Description Humanities disciplines and issues are discussed in a drama enactment/discussion format for teens. Description Career Transition Program is primarily a preparation for our Information Technology Management Program (15 weeks, 8:00a.m.-4:30 p.m.). The Career Transition Program is a combination of classroom and workshop interactions between faculty and students for skills, improvement and career selection.
