The Purpose of this kit is to present innovative and exciting new ways to apply the findings of recent brain/mind research, especially the theory of multiple intelligences, to basic skills and adult literacy education.

The Focus is on helping you and your students discover your many intelligences, and how to use them effectively in mastering whatever content is being learned in the classroom and at home. The emphasis is on tapping the student's unique and natural learning processes to ensure success.

Our Belief and Experience is that all of the adult learners who come into our program (unless severely handicapped) are GIFTED AND TALENTED. Our job is to discover what they do well and how they do it. We focus on what's working rather than what's not working. Let the student help design and choose the learning strategies that will work best for them. Share the responsibility. You'll be amazed when your students begin to realize how SMART they are.

There is no right way to use this kit. Because all human beings are multi-intelligent and learn differently, this kit is designed to offer a menu of choices - with lots of ideas and different approaches to try in creating lessons that match the learner's unique set of intelligences and learning styles.

For those who prefer a logical sequence, the material is organized so that it builds from ideas to action within clear topics. For those who prefer to look through everything and start at a place that meets their specific needs, the ideas are presented on cards to allow for quick and easy access. For those prefer to see' hear, or talk about ideas, we have created audio tapes and visuals to assist your learning process.
