I. Possible Reasons for Continued HIV Crisis

A. New medications make the disease less scary.

B. Young people don't remember HIV 1980 epidemic.

C. Patients don't look sick.

II. Increase in AIDS Patients

A. There is a large number of poor, minority women.

B. Women patients have tripled since 1992

III. Medications

A. The combination is often called cocktails

B. It has to be taken on schedule

C. Patients are often drug users or homeless and they don't have schedules

D. Doctors find it difficult to treat those who most need their help.
